Aether Holdings d/b/a NexCen Brands (ticker=AETH) engages in the acquisition, management and licensing of established brands in intellectual property centric industries including Consumer Branded Products (Apparel, Footwear, Sporting Goods and other hard and soft consumer branded products) and Franchising. In August 2006, NexCen announced its intent to acquire The Athlete's Foot, an athletic footwear and apparel retail franchise system. The Athlete's Foot is the largest retail franchise brand in the world with more than 575 locations in 40 countries worldwide. In addition to providing NexCen with a captive flexible network of retail stores through which it can distribute goods licensed under its acquired brands, NexCen plans to utilize its multinational network of qualified franchisees in order to grow other franchise brands that it may acquire.

Through its June 2006 acquisition of UCC Capital Corporation, NexCen brings together a management team with unparalleled experience in financing, exploiting, and capitalizing on brands and other Intellectual Property assets.

NexCen also owns and manages a leveraged portfolio of mortgage-backed securities and other short-term government agency investments. All of the mortgage-backed securities we own are issued by agencies of the United States government and carry an actual or implied AAA rating.
