The Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Railway Engineering and Technologies is a joint venture of Australia's leading rail industry companies and major universities to advance research and development efforts and increase the efficiency and operations of the nation's rail industry.

Undoubtedly the largest rail research provider in the country, Rail CRC was made possible through the Federal Government's Cooperative Research Centres Programme and is the first and only transport-related CRC in the programme's history.
