Stick & Rudder is a nonprofit flying club based at Waukegan Regional Airport. Established in 1948, it is one of the oldest and largest flying clubs in the United States. The Waukegan airport is located approximately 35 miles north of Chicago, Illinois, and 50 miles south of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The primary purpose of the club is to provide the means to learn to fly and continue flying at the lowest possible cost, while maintaining the highest standards for maintenance, safety, and training. Flying rates generally range from $10 to $30 less than those of commercial operations. The initial one time fee and annual dues are normally recovered prior to acquiring the Private Pilot Certificate, because of the lower flying rates.

The club also provides a friendly atmosphere for it's members. There are various gatherings throughout the year which are flying and non-flying related (holiday parties, flying trips, bus trips, etc).
