Portia Management Services, established in 1978, provides consulting and technical assistance services to ports and related organisations across the world. It also undertakes long term operation and management of ports and terminals.Portia is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company (MDHC) which is the second largest port group in the UK with an annual turnover of more than £250 million.Portia’s key strength is its ability to field teams combining senior management and consulting experience. This experience covers assignments in more than 50 countries and positive contributions have been made to improving the operational, commercial and financial performance of many ports around the world. As the overseas division of MDHC, Portia is currently developing private investment opportunities where international port operational and management expertise is required in, for example Argentina, Kenya, Mozambique and India.
