BMT Asia Pacific is an independent consultancy providing specialist environmental, risk and marine technological services to governments, public institutions and private sector clients within the Asia Pacific region.
BMT Asia Pacific is a wholly owned subsidiary of the BMT Group of internationally based companies, which collectively comprises one of the world’s leading maritime, engineering and environmental consultancies. BMT provides wide-ranging and advanced research, design, risk management, experimentation, software and consultancy services, primarily to environmental, marine, offshore, defence and civil engineering markets.
BMT is a research-based organisation investing over 10% of its UK turnover in research and development. BMT’s research is seen as a key investment in the future, and has provided the basis for many commercially successful products and techniques to assist our clients in the development of their projects.
BMT is constituted as an Employee Benefit Trust, meaning that the company is owned and run for the benefit of employees in the short, medium and long term. This structure empowers the over 850 highly qualified staff, working across 12 European subsidiaries and five international groups, to develop and extend BMT’s reputation for outstanding technical skills, integrity and reliability.
BMT Asia Pacific currently has over professional 20 staff, with almost 2/3 of the staff holding Masters qualifications, or above. Historically, the environmental capability was established in Hong Kong over 10 years ago under the name of Aspinwall, with regional offices throughout Asia. Since that time, the company has experienced two name changes, namely a change to Aspinwall Clouston followed by Enviros Hong Kong Limited. Enviros Hong Kong Limited was acquired by the BMT Group in July 2000 and renamed as BMT Asia Pacific Limited.
