The Salvage Association, founded in London in 1856, has served the marine insurance industry for almost 150 years. Operating from a network of offices located in strategic locations worldwide, the team of over 50 staff surveyors comprises marine engineers, master mariners and naval architects, each having a wider industry background.

With over 700 years of surveying experience, The Salvage Association's surveyors can provide expertise with experience to Hull and Machinery and P&I underwriters, cargo damage surveys, offshore projects, warranty provisions, ISM and related ship and office auditing. The core services are augmented by other BMT subsidiaries with specialists in metallurgy, environmental studies, transport logistics, fluid mechanics and many other disciplines.
