Cisalpino AG

Cisalpino AG was founded on 23 November 1993 by the Italian FS (Trenitalia) and SBB (Swiss Federal Railways). The company mission is to promote international rail traffic with a new generation of sophisticated trains.

Cisalpino trains, popularly known as "Pendolino", provide fast and comfortable connections between Italy, Switzerland and Germany. Our trains are the first that can operate on the railway networks of all three countries, thus avoiding the hassle of changing trains on long-distance international routes. An attractive timetable with limited intermediate stops and a touch of Italianità further heighten the pleasure of travelling.

Cisalpino AG is headquartered in Bern, but the trains themselves are maintained in Milan by the Italian Railways. Personnel on Cisalpino trains are drawn from FS (Italian State Railways), SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) and DB (German Federal Railways). Tickets are sold through existing railway and travel agency channels. Cremonini of Rome operates the dining car service.
