The Rail Passengers Council and Committees (RPC) are independent consumer bodies that were set up by Parliament under the Railways Act 1993 to protect the interests of rail users.
They monitor the policies and performance of train and station operators and have the legal right to make recommendations for changes. Their special tasks include following up complaints and assessing the services offered.
