The Role of the International Freight Forwarder over the last 100 years, has been to perform export services on a limited basis at the pier area. This may include arrangement for the movement of cargo from the origin point to its destination. However, the role of the forwarder in the 1990's has changed considerably, in that we are now called upon to be more involved in contract rate negotiations and estimating transportation costs for sales and marketing divisions.
