It was 1956. Ike was in the White House and the post-World War II economy was booming. Down in Texas, four men decide to start a company devoted to building boats with a new product called fiberglass. They rent a garage for $10 a month and build the first prototype. And the rest, as they say, is history. It’s quite a story and we’re proud to share it with you in the year of our 50th Anniversary.
There were a few companies making fiberglass boats in the fifties, but one took the concept and turned it into a national phenomenon. That company was Glastron. |
