Today's Navarro is the product of three generations of family pride. The first wood-ribbed fiberglass canoe was built by L.H. Beach, Sr. over 40 years ago. He was searching for an alternative to wood and canvas canoes and was interested in the new fiberglass fabrics becoming available in the mid-1950's. His grandson, Vernon L. Pew, continued the family tradition of quality craftsmanship until 2004.
After several years of developing a relationship with another canoeing enthusiast, Vernon finally handed over the reigns to someone he felt shared his family’s passion for preserving the quality and craftsmanship that goes into making a Navarro Canoe.
