This business commenced over 40 years ago at Park Farm, Endon by the proprietor, David Weaver with one vehicle on general haulage and from this expanded in 1964 with the acquisition of 4 vehicles employed on churn milk collection for the Milk Marketing Board. Through the years more small businesses were acquired and vehicles were used for collection into Dairies in Stoke-on-Trent and in the afternoons to deliver animal feed to local farms. With the advent of Bulk Milk Collection the company was selected to operate tankers in the Staffordshire and Cheshire areas adjoining the Potteries and the fleet expanded until the end of the MMB in 1994.

At that time the company was successful in gaining farm collection haulage contracts in Derbyshire and Manchester in addition to Staffordshire and Cheshire. Further contracts have enabled the company to strengthen and consolidate its position in these counties. To maintain these contracts a large fleet of vehicles are used ranging from 16 tonnes to 44 tonnes operated from Endon, Ashbourne, Nantwich and Chester.

In order to assist customers in the movement of milk between dairies around the country, large tankers are used of capacities from 25,000 to 29,000 litres at 44 tonnes. These tankers are used solely to carry milk, milk products and water, to avoid the risk of contamination from other food products.

Vehicles operated are to the specification of customers and in the main are liveried in their colours. Drivers are uniformed to customers' requirements and comply with customers' company regulations whilst on their contracts.

Milk Haulage operates 365 days of the year with manned workshops every day, additionally spare vehicles are available to cover the various emergencies that occur. Vehicles on food products are operated with strict security procedures and comply with milk and dairy regulations.

The group also operates a fleet of tipping vehicles based at Endon and supply Aggregates to the local farming and business communities. The farm base and associated land carry a stock of Pedigree Limousin cattle.

The management team at all sites have long experience in the Milk & Agricultural industries, and drivers are taken mainly from rural areas and from farming backgrounds in order that they can appreciate the problems they are likely to encounter on farms in the course of their daily duties and can be relied upon to operate in all weathers.

The company is now one of the largest independent milk haulers in the U.K. and has obtained quality assessment BS EN ISO 9002: 1994 and indeed was one of the first companies to achieve the Environmental awareness standard ISO 14001.
