Welcome to the historic fishing port of Mevagissey. The following information is supplied to help your stay to be a pleasant one.

As Mevagissey is a working harbour, you must appreciate that working boats have priority.

The inner harbour dates back to 1774, and the outer harbour to 1888. However the outer harbour walls were washed away in the storms of the great blizzard in March 1891. They were rebuilt and completed in 1897. Much expensive work has been carried out over the years to maintain the structures, culminating in £1.25 million spent in 1998 to strengthen the outer pier. Mevagissey harbour is a Trust Port, and is also registered as a Charity.
We welcome visiting yachts and will do our very best to accommodate them. Berths are available on the South pier, which is safe as long as the wind is not in the East. If wind is from the East and over force 3, itis strongly recommended to proceed to Fowey.

Fresh water is available from the inner harbour, however visiting boats must ask permission from the Harbour Office before entering the inner harbour. Visiting craft must not moor in the inner harbour.

Fuel is available from the delivery point on the South Pier by prior arrangement with the harbour master.

For bilge keel yachts and twin hulls that can take the beach safely there is normally space available on the Sandy Beach on the East side of the West Quay.
