The main goal we established for the Companhia das Docas do Estado da Bahia - Codeba was to transform the ports in Bahia into strategic sites to manage and distribute cargoes throughout the country. With this in mind, we are working aiming to reorganize the infrastructure and achieve technologic innovation for the harbors of Salvador, Aratu, and Ilhéus, restoring their importance in the development process of the State of Bahia.
The idea, which emerged after analyzing the present scenario and perspectives, is to provide, the State of Bahia, with expressive harbors within the new mapping of the Brazilian harbor infrastructure, furnishing the necessary means to import supplies and to grant an efficient outflow of the state’s industrialized, mineral, petrochemical, and agricultural products.
We anticipate small, medium, and long-term investments with the participation of their own resources, as well as of the private initiative, and government. The strategy defined by this administration expects to see improvement and expansion works in the three harbors under our administration.
The development and expansion policy defined by the Company also redirects the strategy to close new businesses along with a new harbor management style, adopting, as its basic guideline, an offer of high standard and high quality harbor services with updated technology, competitive rates, profitability, and our client’s satisfaction.
These innovating incursions yet to be implemented, certainly point towards the construction of a new reality in the field of waterway transportation in our State, anticipating the local economy development and, designating our State, to the frontline on harbor modernity and efficiency.
