We handle over 72 million passenger journeys per year in Tyne & Wear, County Durham, and parts of Northumberland, Darlington, Hartlepool and Teesside.
We operate a large fleet of over 700 buses, achieving 99.2% reliability of our scheduled 36 million miles.
Our profits have been substantially re-invested in the service, and over £50 million has been spent on new Easy Access buses to ensure improved accessibility, comfort, reliability, environmental performance, and value for money for customers.
75% of our local bus service network is provided using Easy Access buses, improving social inclusion by bringing better buses close to more families, elderly and people with disabilities.
Go North East's commitment to social inclusion through better physical access, which brought the industry's first Award for Accessibility, is backed by our still unique Easy Access Guarantee, and we remain ahead of the legislation's target for accessible buses.
We are investing heavily in new technology to make travelling more reliable and safer for our customers and staff: over £1 million spent so far on CCTV; heavy investment in real time information and vehicle control; and the state of the art bendy-buses for the Centrelink service that still set the standard.

We are a big regional employer, with more than 2100 employees, extensive investment in training, communication and recognition schemes, and have achieved the Investors in People standard.
We've made it easier to get information on all our services through timetable guides, a customer magazine, Travel Club with over 16,000 members, customers helpline and a comprehensive website.
We lead the way in developing public consultation opportunities through postal surveys, our website, bus user surgeries, public meetings and stakeholder panels, and are looking to build on the lessons learnt to improve public involvement.
We do more than run buses in local communities here in the North East - through our Busmiles programme we help many local groups and charities, and extend community sports and education.
