Restrictions are in place to protect the ageing roads and bridges and to improve the environment in which Londoners live. The restrictions limit the movement of vehicles over 18 tonnes at nights and weekends. Trucks are allowed to drive freely on the Excluded Road Network (ERN), but require a permit to use restricted roads. Failure to have a permit or breaching permit conditions can cost haulage companies £500 and individual drivers £100.
PIE has worked with London Councils to develop maps for truck drivers, transport managers and logistic managers.

The London Lorry Guide has been published on behalf of London Councils to help the haulage industry navigate around the London Lorry Control Scheme.

The atlas uses a Collins map and includes the latest revisions to the scheme. It also maps out all the width, bridge height and weight restrictions on the main roads within the M25 and the top 10 bridge strikes in London.

The A4 sized atlas includes three mapping sections:
• Main road network within M25
• Central London street mapping and index
• Postcode map of Greater London

Additional features include:
• Location of speed cameras by accident hotspots
• Loading and unloading information for all 33 London Boroughs
•
The Transport Manager’s Wall Map has been developed with London Councils for use by transport or fleet managers in haulage companies operating within the London Lorry Control Scheme.

It uses a Collins base, and is a 137cm x 98cm laminated wall map, supplied rolled, which can be drawn on and wiped clean.

Features include:
• Unrestricted roads clearly mapped out
• All the width, bridge height and weight restrictions on the main roads within the M25
• Top 10 bridge strikes in London showing low bridges
• Borough boundaries.
Plotted navigation aids include:
• Tube and rail stations
• Industrial estates
• Parks and key landmarks

The London Lorry Guide costs £8.99 and the Transport Manager's Wall Map costs £25. Both are avaibale to buy from www.londonlorrycontrol.com.
