Accident Care
* Advice - On a wide range of issues, such as what information you need to collect, whether to contact the police and how to deal with the other party
* Virtual insurance claim form - We can collect and record all of the relevant information, which we can supply to you at any time. If your insurer allows us we can report these details to your insurance company and ask them to contact you
* Like-for-like replacement vehicle - If you are not liable for the accident we can provide a like-for-like temporary replacement vehicle free of charge
* Liability assessment - We can give you a preliminary view on who we think is liable
* Legal advice - Regardless of fault we can advise on uninsured losses, repair problems, traffic offences, consumer disputes and how to get the best value for your vehicle if it is a write-off
* Personal Injury Claims Service - A personal injury consultation with a qualified legal professional. We can pursue a personal injury claim on your behalf where appropriate

No Call-out Discount
* With RAC Solutions, you can build a no call-out discount of up to 50% over five years
* If you don't call us out you'll receive a discount of 10% from the cost of your membership the following year
* The discount increases by 10% each year, up to a maximum of 50% after 5 years
Onward Travel
Alternative transport or accommodation
* Provides a Personal Incident Manager who, if we can't repair your car within a reasonable time, will arrange for: a replacement car for up to three days while yours is being repaired; or overnight accommodation; or onward travel by taxi or plane (up to a maximum value of £150 per head or £500 for a group). In addition, messages can be passed on, informing anyone who needs to know that you've broken down.
* Onward Travel will also cover medical assistance (including an ambulance) if required. If the driver of your vehicle (not necessarily you) is certified ill and no one else is able to drive it, we'll take you to any UK destination.
* The Onward Travel option can be added later to RAC membership. (Onward Travel is only available with Recovery).
* Onward Travel is available 24 hours after joining.
Repair referrals
Included in your RAC breakdown cover, this service offers a complete solution to a breakdown that can't be fixed at the roadside.
If your vehicle is beyond roadside repair, there are two options:
* The RAC patrol can tow you to a destination of your choice based on your level of cover
* Alternatively, the patrol can contact our network of approved repairers to find out if a local garage is available to do the work.
o If there is a local garage available you'll get a quote for the work based on the patrol's diagnosis. You can still select the tow option at this point
o If you choose to be taken to the garage, we will tow you there. Once there, you will be treated as a priority customer. The garage will confirm the suspected diagnosis, or give a new one
o If you have Recovery as part of your package, you may request a tow to a destination of your choice within the UK if there is any change to the estimated cost or timing of the repair
o Any repairs undertaken will be subject to separate terms and conditions between you and the network of approved repairers
o Upon authorisation of payment from you, the garage undertakes the repairs, provides you with a 12 month nationwide warranty and in most cases, cleans your car inside and out |
