Grove Emergency Medical Services is a state licensed Paramedic level service in the state of Oklahoma. The service covers 200 square miles of rural Delaware and Ottawa county with the most advanced EMS equipment available. GEMS is hospital based and managed by a 522 EMS board of directors. Medical direction for the service is provided by Douglas Cox M.D.
Grove EMS staffs 10% of all shifts with 2 Paramedics per unit. Grove EMS Paramedic staff is now 90% Critical Care Transport certified And setting a goal of 100%. Paramedics are required to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pre-hospital Trauma life support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and Basic Life support Certifications.
