NRS serves three distinct market sectors, namely :-
1. Logistics
NRS works closely with customers in devising materials requirements for the maintenance and renewal of the rail infrastructure. Operating with a fleet of vehicles from the Crewe Distribution centre, the service delivers right across the UK and internationally.
2. Supply of Goods
The Distribution Centre based at Crewe stocks and distributes over 22,000 products to customer specified service levels throughout the UK railway infrastructure supply chain.
3. Manufacturing & Repair
The Crewe and York Service Centres provide a total engineering solution, predominantly in signalling and telecoms equipment that is both new and reserviced/reconditioned. Dorman specialises in the manufacture of LED railway signalling products and is the UK’s leading supplier of road warning lamps.
Key clients include Network Rail and its WCRM Alliances, AMEC Spie, Amey, Balfour Beatty, Carillion, Exel, First Engineering, GrantRail, Jarvis Rail, Serco and Westinghouse.
NRS continues to expand its range of services and has led the way in product innovation and practical solutions through industry partnerships. This was recognised in 2002 when NRS was named Supplier of the Year at the coveted HSBC Rail Business Awards. More recently, NRS has brought to market the first Network Rail approved main line multi-aspect LED signal, junction route indicators and the LED ground position light and shunt signals.
