The AAE group owns and operates a private Railway as well as a rental fleet of rail freightcars. Over the past 10 years AAE has pursued a strong expansion strategy and today has a fleet of more than 20'000 freightcars both for combined and conventional railfreight. AAE is the European market leader in the rental of standard freightcars.

AAE is committed to the future of European railfreight and is continuing to invest heavily in modern freightcars. AAE provides European EVU's, intermodal operators and railcar rental companies and railfreight with the rolling stock in order both to increase existing traffic and to develop new markets.

AAE sets the standard for freightcar development, and provides its customers with state-of-the-art design, thus permitting a reduction in transportation cost and improving railfreight's competitive position against road haulage.

As a member of the International Railway Association UIC (Union Internationale des Chemins de Fer) and of the RIV (Regulations governing the reciprocal use of wagons in international traffic), AAE is an internationally recognised railway company.

The European transportation market is continuing to see fundamental change and AAE is constantly adapting its organisation to ensure that its customers receive the best possible service.
