The Mobility Advice and Vehicle Information Service helps disabled and older people make informed choices about their motoring needs through assessments offering practical advice on driving ability, vehicle adaptations, wheelchair stowage and passenger access. The MAVIS has a wide range of vehicles fitted with adaptations which are used as part of the assessment process including drive from wheelchair solutions.

The MAVIS also offers a free Information Service to motorists, carers, professionals and stakeholders on vehicle adaptations, location of adaptation specialist garages and conversion companies, and general guides to adaptations.

The MAVIS Assessment Centre will cease conducting driving assessments from 7th March 2007 and will cease providing its information service from 31st March 2007.

A similar information and assessment service is available from the Forum of Mobility Centres. To find your nearest centre either call the National Forum Enquiry Line on 0800 559 3636 or visit their website, http://www.mobility-centres.org.uk.
