DVRX is a European based manufacturer specialising in Digital Video Recording solutions for public transport applications like buses, trams, trains and police vehicles. All of our products are designed to deliver a turnkey solution to the end-user in a simple "Plug'n'Play" format.

Rather than focusing on one part of the market we aim to offer a complete range of solutions. Starting with basic stand-alone "tape replacement" DVR's to hi-end network based products. All our solutions have the added possibility of adding plug-on modules like Wireless LAN, GPRS, 3G and GPS vehicle tracking.

Why Digital Video?

There are many reasons to change from an analog (tape based) to digital video. These are best illustrated below by comparing the two technologies.

Analog systems:

• They require a daily changing of video-tapes that only last 3 to 8 hours.
• They require new tapes on a regular basis to maintain their recording quality - this increases the day-to-day running costs.
• Accessing the correct recordings can take hours, only to find the tape wasn't changed and the information needed has been recorded over already.
• You can only record one camera at a time (whatever is on the monitor).
• You only have one copy, which makes it hard to share and easy to loose.
• You can't easily email it or send a copy of it to other interested parties.
• Long-term storage requires a lot of tapes and can prove expensive in reviewing man-hours /strorage space.

Digital Systems:

• They record for weeks or months without changing tapes, depending on the size of the hard drive.
• They produce the same quality of recording for the life of the hard drive. No degradation in picture quality!
• The actual quality and clarity of the picture is better than analog because it has a higher bandwidth - fact!
• Using Digital multiplexing we can record ALL the cameras ALL the time with MORE images per second.
• Accessing information is simple and very quick! Using a PC, laptop or back-up dvr any recording can be found in seconds and stored in minutes.
• You can even access the recordings without leaving your office using GPRS, 3G or Wireless LAN.
• Once you've got the information, you can burn it to CD to keep and/or send copies to other interested parties via email.
• Long-term storage using CD's is cheaper than tape, takes up less space and costs less time by requiring less out-of-hour's man management.

DVRX specialises in developing and manufacturing digital video recorders (DVR's), cameras and network solutions for public transport applications. Our engineering team has more than 18 years experience specialization in CCTV, image processing, automotive hardware and firmware development programs.

As a company we adapt a "flat management" style allowing us to make quick decisions at director level. We feel this encourages a very direct, flexible support, which in turn creates a very positive feel with our customers, and other business partners.
