Safe Routes to School

Walk to School
    

Students at all four of Brunswick's elementary schools walked to school one day in October as part of International Walk and Bike to School Month. The Bicycle Coalition of Maine, in partnership with MaineDOT, manages the state's Safe Routes to School program that encourages children to walk and bike to school.

The League of American Bicyclists has announced its first annual ranking of Bicycle Friendly States, scoring all 50 states on more than 70 factors. Maine ranked as the sixth best state for bicycling.
