Do you care about sport in Boston? Are you involved in athletics, tennis, rowing, boxing, cycling or any other sporting activity and are a part of an organisation that promotes sport? If you are and you’ve answered yes to these two questions the Boston Physical Activity Network wants to hear from you. A public meeting will be held on Thursday, 11 December to elect a management group according to the draft constitution. The meeting starts at 7.30pm at The Haven Art Gallery, 2 South Square, Boston.

Tough economic conditions will mean Boston Borough Council has to keep its focus on keeping costs down and making savings in the next financial year. That’s the situation facing councillors as they look at early draft budget proposals which could see £1.8 million in savings, keeping the Council Tax rise low at 2.9% and proposals to invest in Geoff Moulder Leisure Centre which will reduce running costs.

The search is on for households to join the Energy Saving Challenge. Six households, keen to reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions, are being sought for a new project called the Boston Energy Saving Challenge. Conserving energy and using it more efficiently is one of the easiest ways to reduce the impact on climate change and save money at the same time.
